Need a Crunchy Snack for Movie Night?

We all love the crunch of popcorn on a movie night but we don't love the FAT and extra calories that come along with it. Then, on top of the GUILT that plagues you the next day, you are left feeling BLOATED and FATIGUED.

Well, don't despair, I have the perfect solution for you! Try my Crunchy Edamame that will not only satisfy your craving for a crunchy snack but will fill your body with healthy nutrients. And I promise you will have NO guilt the next day. In fact, you will feel energized and alive to enjoy the rest of your weekend!

This is my favorite recipe but you can alter it to fit your tastes.

Here is a short list of the ingredients you are going to need:

---- 1 package of Organic Edameme
---- Sea Salt & Pepper
---- Spices (Thyme, Garlic, Onion etc)
---- 1 Tbsp. Parmesan Cheese (optional)
---- 1/2- 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil or Coconut Oil

You do not need to cook the Edameme. Simply remove the shells and place the Edamame in a mixing bowl. Add oil, and stir gently to ensure the Edameme is completely coated. Add the spices of your choice and spread the Edameme (in a single layer) on a cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10-15 min.

The result is an amazing crunchy yet healthy snack for movie night!

Not So Raw But Amazing Ice Cream

I love Food Wishes. he has so many different and unique food ideas. Many are raw and many are not. Here is a fabulous recipe for strawberry ice cream that has minimal ingredients and takes about 30 minutes to make. Ive even included the video which shows how easy it is to make.

From Food Wishes: "Many people consider this type of strawberry ice cream recipe a "hack" or a "cheat" because we're skipping the more time-consuming and sometimes temperamental egg custard step; but even if I didn't want to save tine, and possibly eggs, I'd still prefer this method.

To be clear, I’m only speaking about this specific flavor of ice cream. For deep, dark chocolate, or butter pecan, I’ll take the classic French-style every time. But, for sweet, juicy strawberries, I’m not a big fan of the subtle egginess you get with the traditional method.

For me it muddles the fruitiness, and coats the tongue a bit too much. When I eat a bowl of this on a blazing hot summer day, I want nothing but pure strawberries and cream goodness. To achieve that you need to include a lot of strawberry puree, and all that extra liquid means the texture will not be quite as luxurious. It’s minor sacrifice.

Feel free to skip the 10-second blending of the cream, but I like how it very slightly thickens the mixture. A few seconds too long however, and you’ll have whipped cream, which is going to give you a frozen mousse effect; not something I’m into personally.

By the way, rumor has it that these make some pretty spectacular ice cream sandwiches, if you can get your hands on some shortbread cookies. So, as we head into another long, hot summer, I hope you give this fast, simple, and very delicious strawberry ice cream recipe a try. Enjoy!"

My Favorite Zucchini Pizza Recipes

A very dear friend of mine, Sisily first introduced this pizza to me about two years ago and I'm not afraid to say that "I'm addicted."

These Zucchini Pizza Recipes are super easy and fun to make. The prep time is very minimal and you can make them as simple or as elaborate as you like. The combinations of veggies is endless, offering you a variety of tastes each time you make this Zucchini Pizza.

In my opinion, the best benefits to this recipe are:

--- 1) You are eating living food, not a chemical product created to "look" like food
--- 2) You can eat as much as you like for under 200 calories (on average)
--- 3) Fat free, cellulite free, and guilt free
--- 4) Your body will love you for feeding it nutritious food
--- 5) You will feel great!

Give these recipes a try, and I promise you will be addicted too!
Traditional Zucchini Pizza
This first recipe, the traditional Zucchini Pizza is my favorite. I make it for dinner at least once a week.

You will need an 8inch round pie pan, 4-6 zucchini's, & 6-8 egg whites

Some toppings I like to use are: onions, tomatoes, peppers (yellow, red, & green) garlic, mushrooms, olives, corn, artichokes, cauliflower, and broccoli.

Pasta  Sauce (optional) I don't use any sauce. This recipe does not need any and is perfectly moist and crispy as is.

---- First, coat your pan with a little oil
---- Slice the zucchini in round1inch circles
---- Bake for approx. 30 min on 350 degrees
---- Remove from oven and cool slightly
---- Slice and layer your veggies on your zucchini pizza crust
---- Add fresh basil, sea salt, pepper or any other of your favorite spices
---- Optional (add a bit of mozzarella or Parmesan Cheese
---- Place under the broiler for 3-5 minutes till veggies are slightly brown & crispy
---- Remove from oven and enjoy!

Zucchini Pizza Sticks
The second recipe, my Zucchini Pizza Sticks are very similar but can be a little more fun to make (and easier to eat).

The primary difference is that the zucchini is the crust of your pizza and you don't use any egg whites.

Simply slice the zucchini in half (lengthwise) and remove the center portion. Then you simply layer on your veggies and bake at 350 degrees for about 10-20 min (depending on your oven) and enjoy....

I hope you enjoy my Zucchini Pizza recipes and don't forget to subscribe and join my email list for more fun recipes and tips to keep happy and healthy!

The Good The Bad & The Ugly

The food we find in the supermarket today is NOT food. It is a combination of chemicals that the food industry has put together to make their product taste good. I call this EMPTY food.

Empty food............cannot heal the body.
Empty food....................cannot nourish the body.
Empty food............................... cannot energize the body.
Empty food........................................ cannot beautify the body.
Empty food.....................................................makes the body SICK.

We were created to eat REAL food.

REAL food that God put on this earth does not make you FAT, SICK, DISEASED, or LIFELESS.

REAL food causes your body to be ALIVE, HEALTHY, SLIM, and with an ABUNDANCE of energy.

REAL food is what you find on the outer aisles of the super market. Everything else in the center aisles is NOT FOOD.

If you eat packaged, frozen, canned, or even fast food, you are not eating food. You are eating material made up of a multitude of chemicals that was created in a lab.

Stop believing the LIE.  The lie that these products are FOOD.

I am not saying you have to eat only fruits and veggies but I am saying that most of your daily consumption should consist of REAL food, which is fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, grains, and seeds.

I like to think of my meal in terms of THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY.
Visually divide your plate into 3 sections.

The largest section should consist of the GOOD, which is fresh fruits, veggies, grains, seeds, nuts. This could be a veggie salad, steamed veggies, or any type of fruit.

The BAD should consist of meat, fish, pasta, breads etc.

And the smallest portion of your plate should consist of the UGLY, which is desert and or fat. This would be ice cream, salad dressings, butter, and sauces.

My portions may be different than yours. I use 80/10/10 but that may be extreme for someone who is just transitioning to REAL food. If you find the portions 60/30/10 are too difficult, reduce the size. You may want to start off using 50/25/25 and work your way into larger portions of the GOOD while redacting the sizes of the BAD and the UGLY.

There is no magic formula. You can customize this to fit your needs. One thing I can promise you is that the more REAL food you eat, the better you are going to look and feel. And eventually your body will be able to heal itself and you can be disease free!

Soda is keeping you FAT

I was a Diet Coke lover. I used to drink at least 2-4 large Big Gulps every day for years. Starting at 4:30am I would stop at the local gas station on my way to the office to pick up my big Gulp top start the day. This of course was before Starbuck existed. As the day went on, I would stop at 7-11 on my lunch break, afternoon break and again on my way home. All this amounted anywhere from 2-4 Big gulps per day.

I first realized something was wrong when I could not loose weight and get the cellulite off my thighs. I tried every diet under the sun, every new fad program, every piece of exercise equipment, trainers, classes etc etc. Nothing worked.

Then I learned there is a particular chemical in soda that actually preserves the FAT cells in your body. So while I was spinning in circles, trying everything and spending thousands of dollars on diet pills, doctors, and gyms, this particular chemical was preserving the FAT I was working so hard to get rid of. Its like a never ending circle, you just go around and around without end and without results.

What is this chemical? Aspartame. Aspartame is a product that consists of aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methyl alcohol. Methyl alcohol is a chemical that breaks down in high temperatures and turns into formaldehyde and DKP (diketopiperazine) Formaldehyde is the stuff morticians use to preserve bodies for several days, usually until the funeral.

So, in essence you are drinking formaldehyde which is preserving your FAT cells. I knew the soda had to be eliminated from my life and needed to go immediately.

Its been 6 years and I don't regret it one bit. I drink plenty of water, herbal iced teas and fresh juice to keep me happy, healthy, satisfied, and FAT free!
